Accessorize Yourself with Ultra Fashionable and Trendy Clutch Bags
Clutch Bags
Big enough to hold just what you need and available in a huge range of funky styles and colours to highlight any outfit, clutch bags are perfect for any night out.
You’re wearing this season’s hottest threads, perfect for a night out on the tiles, but you need something to give your outfit a little lift – a pop of colour or texture to finish off your look.
Enter the clutch bag
When it comes to evening accessorising, you can’t go far wrong with a fantastic pair of heels and a clutch bag. There’s so much choice out there that there’s bound to be the perfect bag for your favourite going out outfit. They’re also very much in style so it’s definitely time to grab a clutch bag.
When it comes to finding your perfect clutch you should consider:
Texture: Lace is hot for S/S 2013, but isn’t the most wearable trend, let’s be honest. Add a touch of lacy luxury to your outfit with one of the many delicately embellished clutches to hit the stores soon. Leather is, of course, permanently in fashion – but why not try an on-trend oxblood or linen-coloured leather instead of black?
Shapes: While you can’t go far wrong with the classic rectangular clutch, there’s so much choice and variation out there. Box clutches, bow shapes, fold-over clutches. New Look have a fantastic winged clutch that hearkens to the Givenchy Antigona which is practically ubiquitous amongst Hollywood starlets these days.
When choosing the shape of your clutch, try to pick something opposite in structure to your outfit – if you’re wearing a flowy dress, choose a structured box clutch; if you’re wearing skinnies and a boxy jacket, try a softer fold-over clutch in a malleable fabric.
Quirky shapes: From Lulu Guinness’ iconic lips bag to Kate Spade’s whimsical transistor radio clutch, clutch bags come in an amazing range of fun shapes and sizes. If your budget doesn’t quite stretch to designer, New Look (again!) does an adorable heart-shaped gold box clutch.
Embellishment:
Beads, sequins and other embellishments give your clutch extra glam factor. The LBD you’ve worn for years can easily be given new life with clever accessorising – a collar necklace and a studded clutch can transform a simple outfit from bland to bold.
Colour:
Spring/Summer 2013’s hottest colour trends are pastels – creamy corals, 70s-inspired nectarine, and dusky pale blues. Hit the high street and you can find clutches in every shade imaginable. Metallic clutches never really go out of fashion. If your budget only stretches to one party bag this season – consider a silver or gold number.
Size: When it comes to size anything goes but remember – an oversized clutch may look out of proportion on a petite figure. On the flip side an oversized clutch can make you look smaller.
Think about what you’ll be carrying for the evening – don’t buy a teeny tiny clutch if you’re the type of person who needs to take hair brushes, makeup bag, phone, purse etc out to a party. You might be able to force everything into the bag at the start of the night, but at the end… you might end up dropping and losing something. There are plenty of larger clutches out there that are far more practical, but still chic enough for a night out.
So: for the perfect way to finish off your brand new get-up or to breathe new life into an old favourite – grab a clutch bag. It’s a small investment to make for a huge difference to any outfit.
