In a recent poll, Jeremy Clarkson was voted as having the worst celebrity teeth in the UK. Typical of people with bad teeth, Clarkson is a heavy smoker which is one of the worst things you can do as it tends to cause staining.
Keeping your teeth white
By following some simple instructions, Jeremy and many others could keep their teeth whiter. For one thing, it is important to visit the dentist regularly to ensure teeth are kept pearly white. In fact, around 33% of the population of the UK are not happy with their smile. Most people are unhappy with the actual natural colour of their teeth.
Similar to how your hair changes colour in the sun, your teeth change colour when you get older. There are, however, some specific things which stain teeth, including coffee, curry, red wine and coke. You can actually cut down on discolouration by simply cutting down on these things. In addition to this, there are many teeth whitening products available on the market, although experts disagree as to the benefits of some of them.
Jeremy Clarkson or any other person with stained teeth should also consult their dentists before undertaking any treatment. Most modern dentists would recommend bleaching trays that are tailored to fit your teeth. You should always avoid buying quick fixes on the internet as there is no way of knowing what’s in them and so they can actually do more harm than good.
Laser whitening treatment
What Mr Clarkson should have done is visited his nearest London dentist’s surgery and opted to have laser whitening of his teeth. This simple procedure should be undertaken by a specialist who will apply gel and then laser this into your teeth. The results can be quite astounding and would certainly help the public’s opinion of Jeremy’s teeth were he to have it done. The results are almost instant, so if Jeremy was in a rush for a public event, he could have this seen to very quickly. Whichever method you choose to whiten your teeth, you should always discuss the option with your local dentist and keep your expectations realistic.
Mr Clarkson, as a major UK celebrity, should want to make a good impression and for most people there is nothing better than a gleaming white winning smile. This counts for every person and not just celebrities. Although Clarkson has probably become used to public scrutiny, it can never be nice to have your teeth so publicly scrutinised.
Paul Smith ensures his teeth are always white and recommends www.centrepointdental.co.uk, a well-respected London dentist.
