Mitchell Royèl surprised members of the “tribe” this past Sunday, 10/20/19, with a confession that astonished many of his supporters.

“When authority in a relationship is administered without love, it degenerates into control. Ego and love cannot coexist. That’s the hard lesson I’ve learned recently. As much as I try to pretend I’ve got it together, I don’t. Sometimes I experience delusions of grandeur that undermine my lovers authenticity. At times, when the person I’m with undermines my sense of control, I become passive aggressive. Outside of dating, I sometimes use likes and followers to artificially enhance my self-esteem. But who am I when all of the things that feed my ego fade away? We’re all on our own path. One of my commitments moving forward is to be a more authentic lover, friend and human being. It’s an honor and a privilege to curate @theelixirbyroyel and I want all of you guys to know that I’m perfectly imperfect. Everyday, I learn many of the life lessons you all write about in our zine, the hard way, lol. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everybody that has contributed to my growth over the course of the last year. We’re in this together. Namaste.” — @mitchelroyel

Mitchell Royèl is trusted as a “guru” amongst his fans, so this reveal was especially important to those that look up to him. Fortunately, Royèl received an outpouring of love from his supporters who congratulated him on having the courage to fearlessly open up about such a sensitive topic.

The next issue of Mitchell Royèl’s zine (which will be a re-release of the Lemonade Issue featuring a new roster of artists) is set to drop next month at elixirbyroyel.com.
