Embroidery is the art of creating magic on the fabric using threads and a needle. This technique is said to be thousands of years old. The existence of embroidery can be found in ancient Chinese, Greek, Persian, Indian, and Syrian culture. In fact, the artifacts which are claimed to belong to cavemen have stitching on them. So, it would be hard to guess when it did exactly come into existence; but it’s old, very old.

Embroidery has always been around. We all have seen our grandmothers stitching designs and pattern on our dresses. During the industrial revolution, embroidery became a hit in Europe, from logos on shirts to queen’s royal gowns, it was everywhere. In 70’s, it took pace in America, where the disco-age was all about wearing embroidered pants and jackets.

During 80’s and 90’s it spread throughout the world, and embroidery was seen on all types of fabrics, even denim. The trend lost its charm during the 2000s, when the focus shifted to the modern dressing, but now embroidery in coming back, and that too with a bang.

Last year’s runways have been all about embroidered dresses, whether it was Dolce & Gabanna or Ralph & Russo, embroidery could be seen in everyone’s collection. The fashion designers throughout the globe have recognized the potential of this art. They are beautifully incorporating it in their dresses, and the results are just spell-binding. Embroidery is a trend that goes beyond the day and night looks. It looks amazing in all colors, all fabrics and all kinds of clothing.

In the world of women fashion, embroidery has definitely created a stir. From casual dresses to party dresses for women, a hint of embroidery can be seen everywhere. From Marc Jacob’s embroidered jumpsuit to Gucci’s embroidered skirt, women are enjoying the trend to the fullest. Even embroidered jewelry and accessories are becoming popular with the young women. Look at Jimmy choo who aesthetically incorporated embroidery in his shoe collection.

Today, machine embroidery is seeing new heights of popularity. Computers have made this sewing technique grow by leaps and bounds. It is now easier to produce in mass, and create consistent designs. Put any design on the computer, and the embroidery machine will create it for you. This has enlarged the territory of embroidery from just fashion clothing to customized franchise products, art pieces, decorative items, etc.

Embroidery as an art form has come places. It is no longer just our grandma’s past time; it is a global trend now. It has made us aware of the beauty of turning a plain piece of fabric into a work of art. Those intricate designs and artistic patterns have infused an exquisiteness of their own onto fabrics, increasing their worth and adding to its value. An embroidered piece is a must addition to a woman’s wardrobe, so buy yours today, and feel the richness of this art.

Fashion choices for full figured women used to be limited. However, the “size zero” trend is going out and curves are back in business. There are many designers who cater specifically in plus size clothing for modern women. This is great news for women with a full figure because they are going to find some great designs. Before you go shopping, you should know about the golden rule of fashion: “Know your body.”

I see many women wearing great and in-trend things yet, still not looking as great as they should. The reason is that they don’t know their body. The clothes that designers make cater to a certain body type (mostly thin to normal).

For full figured women, there are certain things that have to be kept in mind before a dress or a top is chosen. You have great curves and you must flaunt them. So, read the following tips and remember that there are women who would die to have curves like you.

Tip #1. Wear Clothes With Vertical Lines

There is one basic rule that I have tried and found that it works every time – wearing clothes with vertical lines will always make you look slimmer and taller.

Tip #2. Avoid Large Clothes

Since I am trying to look slimmer here, I avoid wearing large clothes. I have observed curvy women wear clothes that have extra volume. As a result, their curves are not visible and they look larger in those areas, which they would like to hide. You don’t want to add extra volume. You want to hide it.

Tip #3. Wear V-Neck jackets and Blouses

Women with full-figures should ideally wear v-neck blouses as they make the neck look longer. If you keep the neckline open, you can draw attention to your face, rather than your body.

I have observed that a fitting jacket enhances a curvy silhouette, making it look attractive.

Tip #4. Wear A-Line Skirts

Wear A-line skirts that are narrow to give your body a beautiful shape. Curves are beautiful and wear clothes that enhance those curves.

Tip #5. Wear Jeans With Straight Cut

If you are full-figured, you need to wear trousers or jeans that make you appear slimmer. Straight cut trousers or jeans are the best for you. They are straight from the waist to ankle and give a slim look.
Now remember to buy stretchable denim so that you are comfortable in it and it fits you. Choose neutral colors like gray, brown, black, and others. Also, buy only block colors so that you can match them for all occasions.

Tip #6. Wear Leggings

As I mentioned earlier, clothes that fit you well are what you should wear. Continuing along the same line, buy a pair of black leggings that will not only look good on you but can also be worn on many occasions. It is stylish clothing that every woman must have.

Tip #7. Accessorize

Accessorizing is as important as choosing the right clothing. You may wear a great outfit but unless you accessorize it well, you won’t look good. This is what I believe, and it works for me every time. Choose the right bag, shoes, and accessories. Wear high heels to add length to your body. If you aren’t comfortable with high heels, then wear short heels.

Apart from heels, a belt can also give the illusion of an hourglass figure.

Don’t follow trends blindly and wear what suits you. You don’t have to lose weight so that you can look great. Make the best use of what you have.

These fashion tips are tried and tested by me and many other full figured women all over the world. You should always accentuate your assets, whether you are choosing clothes or applying makeup to your face. The trick to looking flawless is to know your flaws and hide them well. Very few people are happy with the body they have, and you are not the only dissatisfied one. So, learn to make the most of what you have.

Judging by the weather and the surroundings, fall isn’t exactly the season which can provide you with bright colors that are believed to boost up one’s mood. This is when the world seems to slowly fall asleep leaf by leaf, one raindrop after another. Spring, on the other hand, is the time when nature wakes up and gives us back some of its stunningly beautiful hues, which also predisposes us to bloom whether in the way we feel or look.

But can this transition be applied in the jewelry trends of fall 2012 and spring 2013? The answer is more in the affirmative, although trends come from designer’s inspiration for the season, and who knows what they will be captured by?

Fall 2012 Jewelry Trends

If you haven’t already noticed, this fall jewelry fashion is the opposite of the ‘less is more’ concept. Stacking up and layering jewelry is one of the trends that you’ve probably seen or already follow. If you mix and match the right pieces, you’ll certainly find the perfect combination that works for you. Just don’t be afraid to try and get creative.

Another spotted tendency is mixing all kinds of metals. This means that you’re allowed to mix copper, brass, gold and silver altogether, but do it with taste. You can easily go overboard once you start rummaging in your jewelry box. Of course, you have to reckon with your clothes to achieve a complete look.

Customization is another fashion trend that succeeded in obsessing the jewelry world this fall. The desire for expressing individuality and personal style reflects in one-of-a kind pieces. Custom-made jewelry is a guilty pleasure, though. But it resembles refined artwork and is a symbol of class. Also, such jewels have the ability to tell a story and carry a meaningful message for their owners.

Spring 2013 Jewelry Trends

Prepare to witness a color splash for the upcoming spring! Jewelry in vibrant tones inspired by the nature’s brightest hues will be on display everywhere. Colors like lemon yellow, coral, and sorbet should definitely be part of your jewelry collection. Such jewels are designed to steal the attention, to fascinate the mind, to stand out. Massive colorful necklaces, bright pendants, variegated earrings, and pop-of-color cuffs will have be presents in every fashionista’s spring outfit.

Fashion Weeks all around the globe show us all there is to know about trendy jewels and baubles. Feathers, turquoise stones, southwest-inspired elements and chunky silver settings are already spotted as major jewelry trends for spring 2013. A stack of bangles seems to be a must, whether thin-wired, two-toned, geometric, peach, jade or pearl-looking ones. Unusual ear pieces in the form of ear cuffs also seem to have a say.

Jewelry is definitely the accessory that can spice up any outfit, dress it up and make your look complete. Therefore, they just have to be present in your closet as much as clothes do. Well, as a true trend follower, you don’t have to be convinced in the need of jewels, do you?
