5 Ways to Make Yourself Look Skinnier
Thin is in, and I don’t think that’s changing any time soon. No matter how much we would all love to think that being overweight is sexy, the fact is that skinny people tend to look better as a whole. That doesn’t mean you have to lose a lot of weight to look great though. You just have to create the illusion that you are thinner than you actually are. The tips below should help you do just that. Here are five ways to make you look skinnier.
1 – Accentuate the Smallest Parts of Your Body
A lot of people focus on downplaying the bigger parts of the body, but you may just want to play up the not-so-big parts. For instance, most women are pretty thin right under the bust line, so you might want to put a horizontal band right around that area. That way, people will take notice of your small waste and not necessarily the tummy you are trying to hide.
2 – Wear Long Vertical Lines
If you make yourself look longer, you inherently make yourself look thinner. Try to create one seamless line from head to toe so that you look tall, skinny, and totally fabulous. You could do this with a trench coat, a vertical striped button up, a pair of wide legged trousers, some pointy toe heels, or anything else along those lines. Avoid lines that make you look wide, and you will see a huge difference in your overall appearance.
3 – Use Jackets to Cover the Pooch
Every woman has that spare tire in the midsection that she doesn’t want people to notice. A simple jacket can detract from that while adding visual interest at the same time. You could wear any kind of jacket you want, but make sure it either cuts your flab in half or goes slightly below it. If it goes above the belly, all people will notice is an unintentional muffin top.
4 – Wear High Heels
High heels can instantly make your body look longer and thinner. If you throw on a pair of those with any appropriate outfit, you will have absolutely no trouble making yourself look skinnier. Your butt will pop out, your legs will lengthen, and your overall figure will look divine. That is the power of a good pair of shoes.
5 – Walk with Confidence
If you portray yourself as a confident, skinny person, that is how people will perceive you. If you walk around moping about how fat you think you look, people will take notice of that. This is why you just have to be proud in whom you are, no matter what your weight may be at the moment. The concept of mind over matter has never been more applicable.
Follow the tips above the next time you get dressed, and you will look like you lost ten pounds. You might even tell people that’s what you did, despite the fact that it’s not true. Who needs to know?
